‘How To Food Your Life’

November 25, 2007

Food has been for the past years some of my finest subjects. My Food interest is not about the best receipt or the best restaurant chef but about the it’s power to heal and cure. Food is so important and powerful that can make you stronger, healthier, happier, energetic or euphoric. And just depends on what and how you eat. Also it has one of the biggest impact on the planet resources and global warming. It is in your choice to use it in the best way for you and for the planet.

Next you will find some resources to help you start doing it right now.

slow/ Slow Food is a non-profit, eco-gastronomic member-supported organization that was founded to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.

help/ FreeRice. Cool game. For each word you get right, they donate 10 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program.

watch/ The Meatrix II ½ takes us to a processing facility, where we learn how we feed the Fast Food Nations. If you have not seen the Acclaimed The Meatrix I and Meatrix II do it as is fun and make you think. Another funny movie to watch but this time in the big screen is How to cook your life a film by Dorris Dorie with Zen Chef Edward Esp Brown.

resources/ A political incorrect nutrition sites of the late Dr. Weston A. Price, a Cleveland dentist that has been called the “Charles Darwin of Nutrition”. Amazing resources and information about what you should and shouldn’t eat. Also check this one. Warning as you may get confused after this. is another excellent nutrition/health site by Dr Mercola.

data/ is a site that provides complete nutrition information for any food and receipts. Also provides the amount of calories that you need according to your lifestyle, age etc..

blog / want to extent your life? How about restrict your food at the minimum to obtain maximum life span. Calorie Restriction is not a new diet thing but a way of life for those who really make this choice. April’s blog tells us about what is like and how to start.

design/ Culiblog, a blog about food, food culture, food as culture and the cultures that grow our food. Katja Gruitjters is a Dutch food designer/artist check her work.

tokyo/ I’m a Japanese food lover and this site is great to get some receipts. If you are planning to go to Tokyo I suggest that you look at this site as it has more than 1.000 restaurants reviews and food related places to see.
